Job summary

congatec seeks an experienced Production Engineer with strong SMT background to own outsourced production environments. You will serve as the technical interface between internal engineering teams and EMS partners, ensuring robust processes and high product quality throughout production life cycles.

You will lead root-cause analysis, CAPA processes, and NPI support, driving continuous improvement and readiness for mass production with EMS partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics / Production Engineering or similar.
• Strong practical understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes and SMT production technologies.
• Experience with NPI, production ramp-up, FAI and transfer-to-series activities.
• Experience working with EMS / contract manufacturing partners.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in an international, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of SMT and electronics manufacturing processes at EMS partners.
• Act as the key engineering interface between R&D, Quality, Operations and external manufacturing partners.
• Support and challenge EMS partners in industrialization and ramp-up of new products.
• Analyze production failures, process deviations and recurring issues and drive corrective actions.
• Lead root cause analysis using methods such as 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa.
• Define and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with EMS partners.
• Define and evaluate manufacturing processes and data to identify risks and improvements.
• Support DFM/DFF reviews and contribute manufacturing expertise during product development.
• Participate in production audits, supplier reviews and manufacturing readiness assessments.
• Ensure lessons learned transfer into future products and processes.
• Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) activities internally and at EMS from prototype to mass production.
• Plan and assess First Article Inspection (FAI) activities before series release.
