Job summary

congatec GmbH is seeking a Production Engineer for SMT and EMS manufacturing excellence in Penang, Malaysia. This role focuses on owning outsourced production processes, interfacing between R&D, Quality and Operations, and driving continuous improvement across the production lifecycle.

You will lead CAPA and root cause analysis, support NPIs from prototype to mass production, and ensure robust processes and product quality with EMS partners in a global, cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in electronics manufacturing with SMT and outsourcing partners.
• Familiarity with new product introduction, ramp-up, and transfer-to-series activities.
• Proven ability to drive corrective actions and preventive actions.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of SMT and electronics manufacturing processes at EMS partners.
• Act as engineering interface between R&D, Quality, Operations and external partners.
• Support EMS partners in industrialization and ramp-up of new products.
• Analyze production failures, deviations and recurring issues, driving sustainable corrective actions.
• Lead root cause analysis using 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa and related tools.
• Define, implement and verify CAPA with EMS partners.
• Define and evaluate manufacturing processes and data to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Support DFM/DFF reviews and contribute to product development and industrialization.
• Participate in production audits and supplier reviews.
