Job summary

Agilent Technologies in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a lead automation specialist to model production lines and optimize layouts using Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation. You will craft discrete-event simulations for capacity, bottlenecks, and automation strategy, translating outputs into practical factory improvements.

You will define data needs for new automation equipment, integrate with Ignition SCADA, and collaborate across IT/OT, MES, and Operations to ensure secure, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master/PhD in automation, mechatronics, electrical, manufacturing, industrial or related engineering.
• 8+ years in smart manufacturing, factory automation or automation engineering.
• Hands-on with Tecnomatix Plant Simulation and production workflow modeling.
• Experience with Ignition, OPC UA, MQTT, and industrial networking.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-floor workflow, capacity, material-flow, and resource-utilization studies using Tecnomatix Plant Simulation.
• Develop discrete-event models, scenario logic, bottleneck and capacity analyses, line balancing.
• Translate simulation outputs into actionable recommendations for layout, automation, and investments.
• Define machine connectivity and data requirements for new automation equipment and PLC interfaces.
• Coordinate integration with Ignition SCADA for visualization, alarming, and data collection.
