Job summary

Agilent Technologies LDA Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. seeks a Senior Smart Manufacturing Integration Engineer to lead optimization of production-floor workflow, capacity, and material flow through advanced simulations.

You will model production lines, equipment and process logic to identify bottlenecks and drive improvements across departments. The role requires hands-on experience with Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation, Ignition SCADA integrations, and industrial networking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master or PhD in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in smart manufacturing, factory automation, manufacturing systems, industrial digitalization, or automation engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation (discrete-event simulation, production workflow modeling, capacity analysis).
• Experience with manufacturing operations and production-floor equipment troubleshooting across machine, controls, and SCADA layers.
• Experience with Ignition, OPC UA, MQTT/Sparkplug and industrial networking.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-floor workflow, capacity, material-flow, and resource-utilization studies using Plant Simulation.
• Develop discrete-event simulation models and scenario logic for multiple production lines and constraints.
• Conduct bottleneck analysis, line balancing, and capacity studies to optimize processes and layouts.
• Translate simulation outputs into actionable recommendations for layout, workflow, and automation architecture.
• Define connectivity and data requirements for new automation equipment and interfaces.
• Coordinate integration of machines with Ignition SCADA for visualization and data collection.
• Develop standardized machine tag structures and data models aligned with UNS principles.
• Support connectivity through OPC UA, MQTT, Sparkplug, and industrial Ethernet.
