Job summary

Lumileds International is seeking a Senior Product Engineer in Penang to lead in-house yield and product engineering for the automotive product platform. You will drive yield improvements and address excursion-related issues to meet targets.

Collaborate with process engineering and cross-site teams to analyze performance, publish reports, support process improvements, PPAP, FMEA, and control plans, and ensure timely responses to incidents and documentation.

Who You Are

We are looking for someone who would like to join us as Senior Product Engineer in Lumileds.

Position Summary

Responsible for inhouse yield and product engineering for released Automotive product platform.

Accountable to drive yield improvement activities and address yield excursion-related issues to meet AOP and cost target.

What You Will Do

• Drive end-to-end product yield improvement activities through close collaboration with process engineering and cross-site team to meet AOP and cost target.
• Analyze, monitors and publish regular report about product performance and capability, recommends actions to marketing, supply chain management and manufacturing in order to optimize utilization, yield and capacity.
• Support engineering evaluation build that related to process improvement, machine qualification, material shelf life extension.
• Support customer incident in term of unit data traceability, characterization and commonality study.
• Test LYT lot disposition in a timely manner to ensure no impact to production build plan and customer shipments
• Ownership and maintenance of Product documents like BOM, PPAP, FMEA and Control Plan.

What You Will Bring (Required Qualifications)

• Excellent understanding and ability to apply statistical tools and statistics knowledge with strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Experienced and hands on knowledge with structured improvement techniques and associated tools - Statistical Engineering, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certified, Minitab and/or JMP & DOE.
• Solve moderate scope problems by applying of existing techniques/technology within the project/assignment in thorough and timely manner.
• Be part of small work group/support teams responsible for a portion of projects, or work alone on projects that impact business operations and resulting in timely completion of projects.
• Complies with environment, security, health and safety requirements.

Field of Study

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in relevant fields of Engineering or Applied Science

Years of Experience (Minimum)

• 4 - 7 years

Preferred Qualifications

• Organization, planning, communication skills and presentation of complex data.
• Combination of experience in any of the 2 functions; Product, Test and Supply Chain.
• Familiar with 5 core tools and good knowledge in PPAP and VDA6.3 audit requirement.
