Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Ipoh, Malaysia seeks a Lead Engineer to support and improve robotic-arm systems and automated manufacturing equipment. You will troubleshoot, maintain and optimise machines, collaborating with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering and suppliers.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, reading schematics, implementing improvements, ensuring safety and quality, and leading technical activities on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years in process/machine engineering, automation or manufacturing equipment support.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting with robotic arms and automated machinery.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams and pneumatic schematics.
• Knowledge of FMEA, PMP, WI and change-control requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation, setup and improvement of robotic-arm systems and automated equipment.
• Troubleshoot failures in robotic arms, sensors, actuators, motors, pneumatics and controls.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Perform root-cause analysis for downtime and defects.
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams on upgrades and repairs.
• Develop and maintain machine documentation and operating procedures.
