Job summary

Quess Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Production Manager to oversee daily production activities in our steel fabrication operations in Johor. You will plan production schedules, coordinate with Engineering, Project, Procurement, QA/QC and Warehouse teams, and ensure projects meet schedule, quality, cost and delivery targets.

The role requires at least 5 years of production management experience in steel fabrication or metal fabrication, a strong ability to read engineering drawings, and

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and team-management capabilities.
• Proven ability to plan production, manpower, materials and schedule adherence.
• Solid understanding of quality, safety and production cost control.
• Able to read and interpret engineering/fabrication drawings and specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving and multi-project coordination skills.
• Chinese-speaking ability is not required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily production activities and ensure projects meet schedule, quality, cost and delivery targets.
• Plan production schedules, manpower, materials, machinery and equipment according to project requirements.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Project, Procurement, QA/QC and Warehouse teams for smooth project execution.
• Oversee steel fabrication and manufacturing activities, including cutting, drilling, bending, welding, fitting, assembly and finishing.
• Review engineering/fabrication drawings and ensure production follows required specifications and standards.
• Lead and manage production supervisors, welders, fitters and other production workers.
• Troubleshoot production, technical, manpower and equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor quality, safety, productivity, material usage, manpower and production costs.
• Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce wastage and minimize downtime.
• Prepare production reports and monitor project progress, KPIs and delivery commitments.
