Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer for its Data Center business, based in Kuala Lumpur. The role emphasizes mechanical building services for data centers across Malaysia and Asia, with hands-on leadership and client coordination.

You will lead engineering, drafting, and design teams, manage multiple stakeholders, and contribute to proposals and bids while ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering; PE registration would be an added advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical services design for data centers.
• Knowledge of local building codes and international standards to ensure compliance.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders.
• Experience with BIM and 3D models is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality standards and conformance with design plans across the project.
• Technical reports and specifications for Mechanical systems.
• Hands-on manager coordinating engineers, drafting, and design staff.
• Lead project/site meetings with Client, PM, and other disciplines.
• Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines.
• Support site supervision and plant commissioning activities.
• Assist proposals and bids when required.
