Job summary

Johnson Controls Malaysia is seeking a Senior Project Engineer (HVAC) to lead and coordinate engineering, technical, and site execution for data center projects. You will support the Project Manager to ensure safe, compliant delivery from design through installation, testing, commissioning and handover.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in HVAC project engineering, hands-on installation and commissioning, and data center experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC project engineering.
• Experience delivering large-scale commercial, industrial, or data center projects.
• Hands-on experience in HVAC installation, coordination, and commissioning.
• Data center or mission-critical project experience is a strong advantage.
• Strong knowledge of chilled water systems, CRAH/CRAC units, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation.
• Familiar with project schedules and reporting tools (MS Project, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate HVAC design development, shop drawings, and method statements.
• Review project specs and ensure compliance with drawings and standards.
• Interface with consultants and clients to address technical queries.
• Manage daily HVAC site activities per drawings and schedules.
• Coordinate with main contractor, MEP trades, CSA teams, vendors.
• Coordinate pre-commissioning, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Prepare as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover docs.
• Track progress, RFIs, and site instructions.
