Job summary

Jacobs in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Mechanical Fire Engineer to design and deliver fire protection systems for data centre and mission-critical facilities. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to translate concepts into safe, compliant solutions from feasibility through construction.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Mechanical/Fire Building Services, 6–8 years of fire protection experience, and hands-on knowledge of NFPA, FM Global, and local codes, plus proficiency in AutoCAD,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
6–8 years of experience in fire protection engineering or related fields.
Experience with NFPA standards, FM Global guidelines, and local fire regulations.
Exposure to data centres, mission-critical facilities, or infrastructure projects is advantageous.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM environments and engineering design software.

Responsibilities

Develop fire protection system designs for data centre and mission-critical facilities.
Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, reports, and design documentation.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams throughout project delivery.
Assist in producing coordinated design packages and BIM models.
Participate in design reviews, technical workshops, and client coordination meetings.
Support project delivery from feasibility and concept design through detailed design and construction.
