Job summary

Fortune Food Manufacturing Sdn Bhd is seeking a Lead M&E Technician to oversee day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of food manufacturing equipment, ensuring safe, reliable operations and regulatory compliance across the factory.

The role involves supervising a technician team, managing preventive/predictive maintenance, boiler and utility operations, and mentoring staff while partnering with the Factory Manager to optimise asset life and uptime.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma / Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in boilers and co-generation processes.
• Steam boiler attendant certificate and training as a boiler engineer.
• At least 3 to 5 years of working experience in related field, ideally in food manufacturing.
• Knowledge of PLC control systems and electro-mechanical pneumatics applications.
• Good exposure to electrical/mechanical works and facility management.
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, and process improvements.
• Proficient in spoken and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health regulations and boiler/pressure vessel requirements.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Factory Manager and assist in monitoring machinery, reviewing performance, and initiating corrective measures when necessary.
• Troubleshoot and modify or replace parts on process equipment as required.
• Lead a technician, overseeing daily maintenance and troubleshooting of food manufacturing equipment, while actively engaging in machinery repairs.
• Ensure effective, economical, and safe operation of all electrical and mechanical services equipment and systems.
• Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize unplanned equipment downtime and extend asset lifespan.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, service logs, and equipment history, for audit and reliability tracking purposes.
• Manage spare parts inventory levels and coordinate with vendors and external contractors for procurement, repairs, and servicing.
• Guide, train, and mentor technicians and engineering assistants to build technical competency and strengthen the maintenance team.
• Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health regulations, including participation in risk assessments, permit-to-work processes, and safety audits.
• Liaise with statutory authorities on boiler and pressure vessel inspections, licensing, and certification renewals.
