Job summary

Stratus Automation Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Failure Analysis Engineer to lead investigations of customer complaints and field failures, determine root causes, and coordinate cross-functional teams across R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Software. The role requires strong diagnostic capabilities and hands-on testing of PCBA, modules, and system interfaces.

You will drive evidence-based RCA using test data, logs, and historical trends, and contribute to knowledge bases to prevent recurrence

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic/mechatronic engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in failure analysis, product testing, or quality engineering.
• Proven ability to lead complex investigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations of customer complaints, field failures, and returned products to assess impact, urgency, scope, and risk.
• Define and lead failure reproduction strategies, diagnostic tests, and procedures based on symptoms and environments.
• Determine repeatability vs condition-dependent failures and establish evidence to isolate mechanisms.
• Direct diagnostic testing across PCBA, module, and system interfaces to isolate faults.
• Coordinate cross-functional investigations with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Software/Firmware, and Test Eng.
• Prepare failure analysis reports with symptoms, conditions, evidence, root cause, containment, and verification.</br>
• Identify diagnostic capability needs and recommend procurement of equipment and tools.
• Present conclusions and risk assessments to stakeholders and drive corrective actions.
