Job summary

Averis in Malaysia seeks a Specialist for Data Protection Analytics & Insights to strengthen enterprise information protection within Data Governance. The role blends hands-on DLP tech with analytics, reporting, automation, and AI-enabled productivity to transform protection data into actionable business insights.

The successful candidate will identify trends, automate manual processes, and support KPIs and governance metrics for ongoing improvements in information protection programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, cybersecurity, information systems or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in DLP, information protection, security operations, governance & compliance reporting, data analytics or process automation.
• Hands-on experience supporting information protection technologies in an enterprise environment.
• Good understanding of information protection, data classification, governance, and risk management concepts.

Responsibilities

• Support reporting, analysis, and optimisation across enterprise information protection technologies (Proofpoint, Symantec DLP, Microsoft Purview).
• Analyse operational patterns, policy effectiveness, and protection outcomes.
• Support policy tuning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in platform enhancement, transformation, and optimisation initiatives.
• Analyse information protection, compliance, and operational data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and metrics supporting information protection programmes.
• Produce recurring management reports, governance metrics, and risk trend analysis.
• Support KPI development and operational performance measurement.
• Translate technical findings into business insights and recommendations.
• Identify opportunities to automate reporting, governance, and operational processes.
• Develop workflow automation and reporting solutions using approved tools.
• Support self-service dashboards and automated reporting capabilities.
• Contribute to transformation initiatives that reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Specialist, Data Protection Analytics & Insights to support the effectiveness, optimisation, and continuous improvement of enterprise information protection services within Data Governance function.

This role combines hands-on experience in Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies with analytics, reporting, automation, and AI-enabled productivity capabilities. The successful candidate will support information protection programmes by identifying trends, improving operational visibility, automating manual processes, and transforming protection-related data into actionable business insights.

The ideal candidate should possess practical experience with DLP technologies such as Proofpoint, Symantec DLP, Microsoft Purview, or similar information protection solutions, together with strong analytical and automation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Information Protection Technology Support

• Support reporting, analysis, and optimisation activities across enterprise information protection technologies such as Proofpoint, Symantec DLP, and Microsoft Purview.
• Analyse operational patterns, policy effectiveness, and protection outcomes.
• Support policy tuning initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
• Participate in platform enhancement, transformation, and optimisation initiatives.

Data Protection Analytics & Insights

• Analyse information protection, compliance, and operational data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with Governance, Operations, Technology, and Business teams.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations in a clear and practical manner to stakeholders.
• Support management reporting, operational reviews, and transformation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Information Protection, Security Operations, Governance & Compliance Reporting, Data Analytics, or Process Automation.
• Hands-on experience supporting information protection technologies in an enterprise environment.
• Good understanding of information protection, data classification, governance, and risk management concepts.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with Proofpoint Information Protection, Symantec DLP, Microsoft Purview Information Protection / DLP, or similar information protection technologies.
• Experience with Power Automate, workflow automation, reporting automation, and process optimisation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Power Query, and dashboard development capabilities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
