Job summary

Monroe Consulting Group, an Executive Recruitment firm’s Information Technology division, is partnering with a leading organisation to hire a Data Platform & Analytics Manager based in Malaysia. You will lead design, delivery, and continuous improvement of enterprise data platforms, BI capabilities, and analytics services to enable data-driven decision-making.

You will build modern platforms and reports, govern data, and drive adoption of cloud data platforms and self-service BI while coaching

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Data Science or related.
• Master's degree or relevant certification is an added advantage.
• 8-10 years of experience in data engineering, BI, data warehousing, or analytics.
• 3-5 years in leadership or team management.
• Proven track record delivering enterprise data platforms, BI solutions, and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve modern data platforms, BI dashboards, data pipelines, and analytic services.
• Establish and drive data governance, data quality, security, and reporting standards across the Group.
• Partner with business and IT stakeholders to translate business needs into analytic solutions.
• Drive adoption of Microsoft Fabric or equivalent cloud data platforms, self-service BI, automation, and AI-enabled analytic.
• Establish standards for data modelling, ETL/ELT, governance, access control, and data quality.
• Oversee day-to-day analytic operations, including data pipelines, reporting prioritisation, and issue resolution.
• Lead and coach the Data & BI team to deliver timely, reliable, and actionable insights.

Position Overview

The Data Platform & Analytics Manager is responsible for leading the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of enterprise data platforms, analytic services, and business intelligence capabilities across the organisation. This role plays a critical part in enabling data-driven decision-making by ensuring data is integrated, governed, secured, and accessible through reliable reporting and modern analytic solutions.

Key Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Engineer, Power BI Data Analyst, Databricks, or AWS/GCP data certifications) is an added advantage.
• At least 8-10 years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, data warehousing, or analytic.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in a leadership or team management role.
• Proven track record in delivering enterprise data platforms, BI solutions, data pipelines, and reporting services within a complex, multi-system environment (ERP, financial, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial systems).

Technical / Functional Expertise

• Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, or GCP.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, DAX, Power BI, Tableau, data modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data governance.
• Experience designing, implementing, and managing enterprise data platforms, data warehouses, and analytics environments.
• Experience establishing data governance, data quality, security, reporting standards, and access controls.
• Experience driving self-service BI, automation, and AI-enabled analytic initiatives.
• Strong understanding of data integration, reporting services, and analytic operations.
