Monroe Consulting Group, an Executive Recruitment firm's Information Technology Division is partnering with a leading organisation to hire a Data Platform & Analytics Manager. This role is based in Malaysia.
Position Overview
The Data Platform & Analytics Manager is responsible for leading the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of enterprise data platforms, analytic services, and business intelligence capabilities across the organisation. This role plays a critical part in enabling data-driven decision-making by ensuring data is integrated, governed, secured, and accessible through reliable reporting and modern analytic solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and improve modern data platforms, BI dashboards, data pipelines, and analytic services.
- Establish and drive data governance, data quality, security, and reporting standards across the Group.
- Partner with business and IT stakeholders to translate business needs into impactful analytic solutions.
- Drive adoption of Microsoft Fabric or equivalent cloud data platforms, self-service BI, automation, and AI-enabled analytic.
- Establish strong standards for data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, governance, access control, and data quality.
- Oversee day-to-day analytic operations, including data pipelines, reporting prioritisation, and issue resolution.
- Lead and coach the Data & BI team to deliver timely, reliable, and actionable insights.
Key Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Engineer, Power BI Data Analyst, Databricks, or AWS/GCP data certifications) is an added advantage.
- At least 8-10 years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, data warehousing, or analytic.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a leadership or team management role.
- Proven track record in delivering enterprise data platforms, BI solutions, data pipelines, and reporting services within a complex, multi-system environment (ERP, financial, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial systems).
Technical / Functional Expertise
- Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, or GCP.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, DAX, Power BI, Tableau, data modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data governance.
- Experience designing, implementing, and managing enterprise data platforms, data warehouses, and analytics environments.
- Experience establishing data governance, data quality, security, reporting standards, and access controls.
- Experience driving self-service BI, automation, and AI-enabled analytic initiatives.
- Strong understanding of data integration, reporting services, and analytic operations.
