Overview
QL Resources Farming Division is seeking a highly capable and experienced Layer Farm Manager to join and lead layer farm operations across multiple farm locations in Kedah, Selangor and Melaka. This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring efficient, safe, and profitable egg production while upholding the highest standards of biosecurity, animal welfare, and team performance.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in poultry layer production, strong leadership and people management skills, and a hands-on approach to achieving operational excellence and production targets.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of layer farms, ensuring compliance with company SOPs and industry best practices.
- Monitor and improve key production metrics including feed conversion ratio (FCR), growth rates, mortality, and overall productivity.
- Optimize resource usage (feed, water, vaccines, etc.) to manage costs effectively.
- Lead problem-solving initiatives related to disease outbreaks, equipment failures, and environmental challenges.
- Enforce strict biosecurity, health, and safety protocols across all farm units.
- Collaborate with veterinary, nutrition, and maintenance teams to enhance flock health and housing conditions.
- Supervise farm supervisors, technical staff, and production crews to ensure alignment with operational goals.
- Mentor and develop farm personnel through training, performance reviews, and skill-building initiatives.
- Maintain accurate production records and generate regular performance reports for senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Diploma in Agribusiness, Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in poultry, feed, or agri-food industries.
- Proven track record in managing complex farm operations and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Knowledge of sustainable farming practices and emerging trends in the poultry industry, including ESG initiatives.
- Familiarity with biosecurity protocols, animal welfare standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and team-building skills.
- Willingness to be based in or travel to Melaka, Selangor, or Kedah.
