Job summary

Square M Design Ltd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Landscape Architect to join the design team from concept through schematic design. You will turn ideas into strong visuals, including rendered plans, 3D models, renders, and design reports for hospitality, resort and high-end projects across Asia and the Middle East.

You'll develop landscape concepts, prepare plans and palettes for tropical climates, and build 3D models in SketchUp with Enscape walkthroughs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture
• 2–5 years of experience in concept and schematic landscape design
• A portfolio showing strong concept work: rendered plans, 3D visuals and presentation layouts
• Advanced skills in Photoshop, SketchUp, Enscape and InDesign
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D layouts and working from base drawings
• Good written and spoken English

Responsibilities

• Develop landscape concepts and schematic design options based on the brief and direction from senior designers
• Prepare concept plans, sections, planting and material palettes suited to the tropical climate
• Explore design ideas quickly through sketches, 2D layouts and 3D studies
• Incorporate feedback from the team and clients into revised options
• Build 3D models in SketchUp and produce renders and walkthroughs in Enscape
• Produce rendered plans, sections, elevations and photomontages in Photoshop
• Lay out presentation decks, design reports and mood boards in InDesign
• Keep graphics consistent with the studio's presentation style and standards
• Assist senior designers with landscape design development and submission deadlines for client presentations
• Prepare base drawings and graphics from architect and survey information

Job description

We are looking for a Landscape Architect to support our design team at the concept and schematic design stages. You will turn design ideas into strong visuals and presentation material: rendered plans, 3D models, renders and design reports. The role focuses on design and presentation. You will work on hospitality, resort, destination casino and high-end residential projects across the Middle East and Asia, alongside our teams in Dubai, Shanghai, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh City and Macau.

Key responsibilities

Develop landscape concepts and schematic design options based on the brief and direction from senior designers

Prepare concept plans, sections, planting and material palettes suited to the tropical climate

Explore design ideas quickly through sketches, 2D layouts and 3D studies

Incorporate feedback from the team and clients into revised options

Build 3D models in SketchUp and produce renders and walkthroughs in Enscape

Produce rendered plans, sections, elevations and photomontages in Photoshop

Lay out presentation decks, design reports and mood boards in InDesign

About you

Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture

2–5 years of experience in concept and schematic landscape design

A portfolio showing strong concept work: rendered plans, 3D visuals and presentation layouts

Advanced skills in Photoshop, SketchUp, Enscape and InDesign

Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D layouts and working from base drawings

Design-level understanding of tropical planting and hardscape materials

Good written and spoken English

Strong hand-sketching skills (preferred)

Experience on hospitality, resort or high-end residential projects (preferred)

Membership of a professional landscape body (e.g. ILAM in Malaysia) (preferred)
