Job summary

LANDinc is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect for our Johor Bahru studio to deliver landscape architecture, urban design, and master planning across Asia, the Middle East, and North America. The role spans concept design through construction documentation, with collaboration across global studios.

You will lead project packages, mentor teams, and coordinate with clients and consultants, while overseeing technical detailing and ensuring design intent from concept to field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience and project leadership.
• Strong portfolio across multiple design phases.
• Strong knowledge of landscape design, detailing, materials, and planting design.
• Proficiency in Vectorworks and/or AutoCAD; working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, SketchUp.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project design and delivery across all phases, translating the project brief into landscape solutions.
• Develop and oversee concept proposals, design presentations, detailed drawings, specifications, and other documents.
• Plan and allocate work within the project team, monitoring progress against scope and schedules.
• Review drawings to ensure design accuracy, coordination, and compliance with requirements.
• Present design intent to clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to resolve design matters.
• Lead and participate in coordination meetings, ensuring follow-up actions.
• Provide construction-stage support including site inspections and technical queries.
• Mentor Landscape Architects and Technicians for growth and development.
• Identify risks and changes in scope and address with studio leadership.

Job description

This is a full-time, onsite position based at LANDinc's Johor Bahru, Malaysia studio. As a Landscape Architect, you will play an integral role in delivering innovative landscape architecture, urban design, and master planning projects across Asia, the Middle East, and North America. Depending on your level of experience, you will contribute to all phases of project delivery, from concept design through detailed construction documentation, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across LANDinc's global studios. Senior Landscape Architects will work closely with Senior / Management staff to develop their technical and design skills. You will take ownership of project packages and coordinate with consultants and clients.

Key responsibilities

Coordinate project design and delivery across all phases, translating the project brief into creative, practical, and technically sound landscape solutions.

Develop and oversee concept proposals, design presentations, detailed drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.

Plan and allocate work within the project team, monitoring progress against agreed scope, deliverables, and schedules.

Review drawings and documentation to ensure design consistency, technical accuracy, multidisciplinary coordination, and compliance with applicable requirements.

Present and communicate design intent clearly to clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.

Serve as a key project contact, coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to resolve design and technical matters.

Lead and participate in project, technical, and consultant coordination meetings, ensuring decisions and follow-up actions are clearly communicated.

Provide construction-stage support, including reviewing relevant submissions, responding to technical queries, and attending site inspections as required.

Supervise, guide, and mentor Landscape Architects and Technicians, supporting their design development, technical skills, and professional growth.

Identify project risks, resource needs, and changes in scope, and work with studio leadership to address them promptly.

About you

Senior Landscape Architect:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture.

At least 8 years of relevant professional experience, with demonstrated experience leading projects and supervising project teams.

A strong portfolio demonstrating design ability and successful project delivery across multiple phases.

Strong technical knowledge of landscape design, detailing, materials, and planting design.

Proficiency in Vectorworks and/or AutoCAD, with working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, SketchUp, and visualization software.
