Job summary

Alunan Asas Sdn Bhd, a Malaysia-based construction company, is seeking a land surveyor with 3–5 years' site surveying experience to support infrastructure projects in Penang. You will conduct land and engineering surveys, perform setting out, and verify coordinates with GNSS and total station equipment.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and surveying-related software is an advantage; the role involves coordinating with engineers, ensuring compliance with specs, and supervising junior surveyors.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM; survey technical training, Diploma in Land Surveying/Geomatics/ Civil Engineering, or equivalent an advantage.
• Site surveying experience in building or infrastructure projects is preferred; 3-5 years of relevant experience will be an advantage.
• Experience coordinating with licensed surveyors for boundary surveys, gridline setting, and topographic works.
• Experience identifying drawing-vs-site discrepancies and coordinating with engineers for resolution.
• Familiar with handover survey requirements and vacant possession documentation.
• Ability to supervise and develop Site Surveyors and Chainmen.
• Clear communication with site management, engineers, and subcontractors on survey status.
• Commitment to safety on site, particularly around live works and traffic management.
• Good communication and computer skills are required. Proficiency in AutoCAD and surveying-related software will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct land and engineering surveys for construction and infrastructure projects
• Perform site setting out based on approved construction drawings
• Establish and verify control points using GNSS and total station equipment
• Measure and record topographic, boundary, and as-built survey data
• Prepare survey reports, calculations, and AutoCAD drawings
• Verify levels, coordinates, and dimensions to ensure construction accuracy
• Monitor structural movement and deformation when required
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, and project managers
• Ensure survey work complies with project specifications and relevant standards
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot survey instruments
• Assist in resolving site discrepancies related to survey data
• Support project progress by providing accurate survey information throughout all construction stages
• To undertake other duties including but not limited to other functional areas as directed by superior from time to time
• Responsible for planning grid control points, horizontal & vertical control
• Arrange for survey on existing ground levels, formation level and finish level
• Check on alignment & vertically
• Study & check available survey drawings, calculate survey requirements & plan surveys
• Organize licensed surveyors to set out boundary line & gridline if require
