Job summary

Eastfound Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Laboratory Technician (Production & Wastewater) to perform chemical analyses on production line bath solutions and monitor the wastewater treatment system to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Diploma or higher in Chemistry or related fields, plus a mandatory CePIETSO/IETS certification and at least 3 years in an industrial lab with WWTP experience. A 6-day work week with rotating day/night shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: Diploma or above in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Mandatory certification: CePIETSO (PCP) / IETS (PCP) competency certificate.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years in an industrial laboratory with WWTP operation knowledge.
• Technical skills: proficient in titration and chemical analysis; knowledge of wastewater treatment processes.

Responsibilities

• Bath Solution Analysis: Regular testing of chemical indicators, concentrations, and impurities; guide dosing and maintenance based on results.
• Wastewater Treatment & Compliance: Operate and monitor WWTP; ensure DOE-compliant discharge parameters.
• Lab Management: Prepare reagents, calibrate instruments, manage lab inventory.
• Process Improvement & Safety: Update SOPs and identify risks in chemical usage and wastewater handling.

Working Hours: 8:30AM-5:00PM, 6 days per week (45 hours per week, Shift Work Required: Day Shift / Night Shift)

Job Summary
Responsible for chemical analysis of production line bath solutions and monitoring/operating the wastewater treatment system to ensure production quality and full compliance with environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Bath Solution Analysis: Perform regular testing of chemical indicators, concentration, and impurities for the pre-treatment pickling, phosphating, and integrated spray lines. Guide chemical dosing and bath maintenance based on test results to maintain optimal process conditions.

Wastewater Treatment & Compliance: Operate and maintain the industrial wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). Perform daily wastewater treatment, monitor water quality parameters (pH, COD, TSS, Heavy Metals, etc.), and adjust treatment processes/dosing to strictly ensure final discharge complies with Department of Environment (DOE) standards and regulations.

Lab Management: Prepare reagents and indicators; maintain laboratory instruments and perform internal calibrations; manage inventory of lab consumables.

Process Improvement & Safety: Update SOPs and identify potential risks or inefficiencies in chemical usage or wastewater handling to ensure safe and efficient lab operations.

Requirements

Education: Diploma or above in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Certifications (Mandatory): Must possess a valid Certified Environmental Professional in Industrial Effluent Treatment System (Physical Chemical Processes) - CePIETSO (PCP) / IETS (PCP) competency certificate.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial laboratory. Hands-on experience with wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) operation and regulatory compliance is required.

Technical Skills: Proficient in titration and chemical analysis. Sound knowledge of industrial wastewater treatment processes.

Work Schedule: Willing to work 6 days per week and flexible to work on rotational shifts (Day/Night Shift).

Competencies: High responsibility, detail-oriented, strong safety awareness, and capable of handling chemical substances safely.
