Job summary

Jora Malaysia invites applications for a laboratory technician role in the Shah Alam area. The successful candidate will hold at least an SPM, certificate, or diploma in Laboratory Technology or a related field and will assist with sample preparation, handling, and analysis under SOPs.

You will maintain a clean, safe laboratory, document results accurately, and work both independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with safety standards and basic laboratory instrumentation is essential.

Qualifications

• Have at least an SPM, Certificate, or Diploma qualification in Laboratory Technology, Science, Chemistry, or a relevant field.
• Possess basic familiarity with laboratory practices, including sample preparation, sample handling procedures, and laboratory instruments.
• Able to observe and comply with laboratory safety standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and organisational policies.
• Demonstrate careful attention to detail and maintain accuracy when processing, preparing, weighing, and documenting samples.
• Capable of completing tasks independently and working cooperatively with team members while maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organised laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with the receipt, identification, labelling, and preparation of laboratory samples.
• Complete sample processing tasks involving cutting, separation, dividing, and mixing activities.
• Determine and record the required sample weight before carrying out the digestion procedure.
• Ensure the laboratory remains clean and properly organised by maintaining work areas and washing glassware and laboratory equipment.
• Support routine administrative work, including the arrangement and maintenance of laboratory files and records.
• Regularly check laboratory materials and assist in monitoring and managing the inventory of supplies.
• Carry out the digestion process on samples to prepare them for laboratory analysis.
• Adhere to all laboratory safety requirements and comply with the company’s established policies.
