Job summary

Graduan-Masca Career fair 2018 is seeking a data entry assistant for hospital records to enter patient information into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and verify test orders as per the request form.

You will receive specimens, sort and barcode them, and hand over forms to the Data Entry Department. Training will be provided; prior experience is optional, and you will work closely with colleagues to maintain data integrity.

Qualifications

• No prior working experience required.
• Candidates with data entry experience will be an added advantage.
• Willing to undergo training and learn new processes as required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately enter patient information into LIS as provided on the request form.
• Ensure that the correct test(s) are ordered for the patient based on the request form.
• Notify the Supervisor or Head of Department immediately for any discrepancies encountered during the entry of doctor’s, billing or test code.
• Check all entries made to prevent data entry errors.
• Check the request form folder to ensure that all forms received were data entered.
• Attend to all queries made pertaining to data entry.
• Receive specimens from the internal / external courier service staff as well as from the patient centre in accordance with the procedures outlined in the SOP.
• Sort specimens for data entry / analysis ensuring all forms / specimens are verified for patient details, barcoded and panelled for test(s) appropriately in accordance with the procedures outlined in the SOP.
• Handover all request forms to the Data Entry Department for data entry after sorting specimens.
• Segregate (by departments), process (centrifugal, splitting and secondary barcode) and delivery of specimens to the respective departments on time in accordance with the procedures outlined in the SOP.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information, including patient records, with professionalism.
• Willing to undergo training and learn new processes as required.
