Job summary

RE&S Enterprises in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Management Trainee – Kitchen to learn all aspects of kitchen operations and management, from food preparation to SOPs.

Fresh graduates and junior candidates are welcome; structured training, exposure to Japanese restaurant operations, and career progression await.

You will work with the Kitchen Head, developing leadership and teamwork while supporting busy shifts, upholding hygiene and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, F&B or related field preferred.
• Candidates with kitchen experience are an advantage.
• Willing to learn and perform hands-on kitchen duties.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Passionate about Japanese food and the F&B industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily kitchen operations, food preparation and cooking.
• Maintain food quality, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Support stock control, receiving, storage and inventory checking.
• Monitor food wastage and proper ingredient usage.
• Learn kitchen SOPs, food safety and operational procedures.
• Work closely with the Kitchen Head and management team.
• Develop leadership, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Assist in coordinating kitchen operations during busy periods.
• Learn how kitchen manpower and workstations are organised.
• Assist senior team members in coordinating daily kitchen activities.
• Support training and guidance of junior team members as experience increases.
• Learn how to handle operational problems and communicate issues to management.
