Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Kitchen Apprentice/Helper / Kitchen Crew to support daily kitchen operations, ensure efficient food preparation, maintain cleanliness and hygiene, and assist cooks in delivering high‑quality Nasi Lemak. You will follow recipes and SOPs, help with mise-en-place, and support during peak hours while working with the Outlet Chef and front-of-house team.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM or relevant experience; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in basic food prep such as cutting, slicing, washing, portioning, and marinating ingredients.
• Prepare sambal, condiments, and side items under supervision.
• Ensure mise-en-place is ready before service.
• Assist Line Cooks and CDP during peak periods.
• Ensure ingredients are properly labelled, dated, and stored (FIFO).
• Assist in assembling basic menu items and plating as required.
• Support in stock replenishment and refilling of ingredients during service.
• Follow all recipes and SOPs to maintain consistency.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas at all times.
• Operate dishwashing equipment and ensure proper sanitization.
• Comply with food safety standards, HALAL requirements, and café hygiene SOPs.
• Dispose of waste properly and maintain overall kitchen cleanliness.
• Cooperate with front-of-house team during rush hours.
