Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a kitchen assistant to support food preparation, mise-en-place, cooking, plating, and packaging following standard recipes. The role emphasizes cleanliness, hygiene, and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced kitchen.

Ideal candidates are physically fit, able to stand long hours, and show a positive attitude with good teamwork. Training will be provided to cover different kitchen sections and routines.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and hygiene practices.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long hours in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Responsible, disciplined, and able to follow instructions and standard recipes accurately.
• Positive attitude, good teamwork skills, and willingness to learn and support different kitchen sections.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation Support – Assist in ingredient preparation, mise-en-place, cooking, plating, and packaging while following recipes and portion standards.
• Cleaning & Hygiene Maintenance – Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations are clean, sanitized, and compliant with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Equipment Handling & Safety – Safely operate kitchen tools and machinery, report hazards or malfunctions, and maintain cleaning and sanitation supplies.
• Operational Assistance – Support kitchen setup, closing duties, inventory organization, and smooth service flow across all sections.
• Team Collaboration & Professionalism – Work closely with chefs and colleagues, maintaining a positive, professional, and cooperative attitude in all kitchen operations.
