Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support food preparation and cooking under the direction of the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef. The role requires following recipes, maintaining clean workstations, receiving and storing supplies, and upholding high hygiene and food safety standards.

Candidates should have basic culinary knowledge or a relevant certificate/diploma, strong teamwork, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.

Qualifications

• Basic culinary knowledge or relevant certificate/diploma is preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and improve cooking techniques.
• Able to work morning and afternoon shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and cooking of food as directed by Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
• Follow standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Keep workstations and equipment clean and maintained.
• Receive and store food supplies properly.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety.
• Rotate stock and ensure proper labeling and storage to reduce wastage.
• Learn kitchen operations, techniques, and menu items.
• Support team members in different kitchen sections as required.
• Follow health and safety regulations and kitchen procedures.
