Dmk Hospitality Sdn Bhd is seeking a junior video editor to grow with our team, taking ownership of shooting and first-pass edits. You’ll be mentored by our Senior Editor from day one, and you’ll work on shoots at outlets and events, producing social content and supporting larger campaigns.
Fresh graduates welcome; showreel is required. Proficiency in Premiere Pro is essential, and basic lighting and audio skills are preferred. Willingness to work weekends when shoots require it.
Our brands produce video every week — food, venue, events, campaigns, and daily social content. Right now one editor covers both. We're bringing in a second person to grow with the team, take ownership of shooting and first-pass edits, and eventually run their own projects.
You’ll be mentored by our Senior Editor from day one. You won’t be left to figure it out alone.
Shoot video on location at our outlets and at events — food, interiors, people, b-roll
Assist with lighting, audio and basic set-up on larger shoots
Manage and back up footage: ingest, organise, label and archive
Cut first drafts and rough edits for review by the Senior Editor
Produce social cutdowns and reformat content for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts (9:16, 1:1, 16:9)
Add subtitles, simple motion graphics, lower thirds and sound
Support the Senior Editor on bigger campaign and brand films
Keep up with what’s working on social and bring ideas to the table
Diploma or degree in Film, Multimedia, Digital Media, Mass Communication or equivalent — or a showreel strong enough that we don’t care about the certificate
0–2 years of experience. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects and Photoshop are a bonus; CapCut alone is not enough)
Comfortable operating a camera — mirrorless, gimbal and basic lighting
A showreel or portfolio link. This is mandatory; applications without one will not be reviewed
Willing to work outside office hours and on weekends when shoots require it, with time off in lieu
Own transport is an advantage, as you’ll be moving between outlets
Conversational English and Bahasa Malaysia
Speed, reliability and a willingness to take feedback. We’d rather hire someone who delivers a decent cut on time and improves every week than someone brilliant who misses deadlines.
Structured mentorship under a Senior Editor, with a formal review at 6 months
Shoot‑day and outstation allowances, plus mileage
Access to company equipment [list your cameras/lenses — this attracts good juniors more than you’d expect]
[EPF, SOCSO, EIS, annual leave, medical — spell these out, candidates look for them]
