Job summary

Sheng Jian Engineering & Construction Sdn Bhd is seeking a Junior Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) / Project Engineer to join the project team in Ipoh. The role blends site safety responsibilities with project engineering tasks, supporting execution and coordination of construction projects requiring DOSH/JKKP compliance.

The successful candidate should hold a Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Construction or related field, with fresh graduates welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Construction or a related field.
• Valid DOSH/JKKP Site Safety Supervisor – Yellow Book.

Responsibilities

• Monitor site activities and ensure DOSH/JKKP, OSHA compliance.
• Conduct site safety inspections, toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
• Identify hazards and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure workers and subcontractors comply with safe work practices and PPE requirements.
• Maintain safety records, reports, permits and other HSE documentation.
• Assist with incident reporting and investigation.
• Assist in planning, coordinating and supervising project activities.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors and site personnel.
• Monitor project progress, workmanship, materials and site activities.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Assist with project documentation, progress reports and site measurements.
• Support the Project Manager in ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule and according to specifications.

Junior Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) / Project Engineer

We are looking for a Junior Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) / Project Engineer to join our project team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior safety professional to gain practical experience in site safety, project engineering, construction and industrial projects.

The successful candidate will take on SSS responsibilities for projects requiring a Yellow Book. For projects where an SSS/Yellow Book is not required, the candidate will be assigned as a Project Engineer, supporting the execution and coordination of the project.

Key Responsibilities

Site Safety Supervisor – SSS

Requirements

• Valid DOSH/JKKP Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) – Yellow Book.
• Fresh graduates and candidates with limited site experience are welcome to apply.
• Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Construction or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of Malaysian safety and health requirements.
• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Responsible, proactive and willing to learn.
• Able to work at project sites and travel when required.
• Able to perform both safety and engineering/project coordination duties depending on project requirements.
