Job summary

Chec Construction (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a junior to executive Quantity Surveyor to support tendering, cost estimation, and cost control on construction projects in Kuala Lumpur. You will assist in take-offs, prepare Bills of Quantities, and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to gather quotes.

This role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying and 3 years of relevant experience or strong technical knowledge.

Qualifications

Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
3 years of relevant experience preferred; candidates with less experience may be considered.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with QS software or costing tools.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing cost estimates and Bills of Quantities during tendering.
Review tender documents, specifications and drawings for costing.
Take-off quantities and prepare Bills of Quantities from drawings.
Source quotations from subcontractors and suppliers for work packages.
Develop unit rates and cost build-ups for tender submissions.
Evaluate quotations to support tender pricing and cost analysis.
Maintain costing databases and supplier records.
Support the QS team in coordinating tender submissions within timelines.
Develop basic understanding of construction methodologies and resource planning for costing.
Review construction schedules and resource allocation to support tendering.
