Job summary

JCEC Concrete Sdn Bhd is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to support tender activities in Subang Jaya. You will review drawings, assist in take-offs, prepare Bills of Quantities, and compile quotations under guidance from senior QS.

The ideal candidate is a recent graduate with a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management. Basic knowledge of cost estimation, reading drawings, and supplier quotations is preferred. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Candidates with up to 2 years of relevant experience in tendering or cost estimation will have an added advantage.
• Basic understanding of construction methods, tendering procedures, measurement and cost estimation.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Basic knowledge of Bills of Quantities, supplier quotations and cost comparisons.
• Experience or exposure to Design & Build (D&B) projects is an added advantage.
• Good numerical analytical, communication and problem solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Willing to learn and follow instructions from senior team members.
• Able to manage assigned tasks and meet tender submission deadlines.
• Responsible, organized and committed to completing work accurately and on time.
• Positive attitude with good teamwork and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Review and understand tender drawings, specifications, contract documents, and project requirements.
• Assist in quantity take-off and measurements based on tender drawings.
• Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BQ), cost estimates, and tender.
• Source quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare quotation and cost comparison tables for review by Senior QS or Tender Manager.
• Assist the tender team in reviewing tender documents and identifying missing information or discrepancies.
• Compile tender documents and ensure submissions are completed within the required timeline.
• Prepare draft technical and commercial clarification enquiries for review.
• Coordinate with designers, engineers, suppliers and internal departments to clarify technical and pricing matters.
• Assist with tender interviews, presentations, and post-tender clarifications when required.
• Update tender rates, supplier quotations, and cost databases regularly.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants and internal project teams under the guidance of senior team members.
• Attend tender meetings, technical discussions, project handover meetings and site visits when required.
• Follow up with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations within the required timeline.
• Maintain proper documentation and filing of tender, contractual and commercial records.
• Provide administrative and technical support to the tender team.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties and assignments as required by management.
