Job summary

See Boon Yong Construction (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the full project lifecycle from pre-contract to final accounts. You will perform take-offs, cost estimation, budget analysis and prepare progress claims, while coordinating with site teams and suppliers.

The role requires reading drawings, strong communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia, and willingness to travel for site visits and meetings. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply and training is provided.

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field.
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; candidates with QS experience will have an advantage.
Understanding of pre-contract and post-contract processes including take-off, cost estimation, payment claims and variation orders (VO).
Able to read construction drawings and perform quantity measurement.
Good coordination to liaise with site supervisors, main contractors, suppliers and project teams.
Organised, detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks within project timelines.
Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Willing to travel for project meetings or site visits when required.
Positive attitude, responsible and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

Carry out quantity take-off and measurement works.
Prepare cost estimation and budget analysis.
Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Prepare and submit progress claims to the Main Contractor.
Monitor monthly project progress and cost status.
Prepare and evaluate Variation Orders (VO).
Monitor material usage and wastage.
Conduct quantity verification and site measurements.
Prepare and finalise project accounts.
Monitor payment schedules and follow up on outstanding payments.
Liaise with Main Contractor on quantity and account-related matters.
Liaise with Site Supervisors and Main Contractor to ensure projects are delivered on time.
Attend meetings and conduct site visits when required.
Perform any other related duties assigned by Management.

To assist throughout the entire project lifecycle, including Pre-Contract, Post-Contract and Final Accounts stages.

Pre-Contract

Prepare cost estimation and budget analysis.

Post-Contract

Prepare and submit progress claims to the Main Contractor.
Monitor and track monthly project progress and cost status.
Prepare and evaluate Variation Orders (VO).

Final Accounts

Prepare and finalise project accounts.
