Job summary

See Boon Yong Construction (M) Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Quantity Surveying professional. The role involves assisting across Pre-Contract, Post-Contract and Final Accounts, including take-off, cost estimation and progress claims, with coordination across site teams.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; knowledge of English and Bahasa Malaysia is beneficial. Willingness to travel for meetings or site visits is expected as part of project support.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; QS experience in construction projects is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of pre-contract and post-contract processes including take-off, cost estimation, payment claims and variation orders (VO).
• Able to read construction drawings and perform quantity measurement.
• Good coordination skills to liaise with site supervisors, main contractors, suppliers and project teams.
• Organised, detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks within project timelines.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Willing to travel for project meetings or site visits when required.
• Positive attitude, responsible and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist throughout the entire project lifecycle, including Pre-Contract, Post-Contract and Final Accounts stages.
• Carry out quantity take-off and measurement works.
• Prepare cost estimation and budget analysis.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare and submit progress claims to the Main Contractor.
• Monitor and track monthly project progress and cost status.
• Prepare and evaluate Variation Orders (VO).
• Monitor material usage and wastage control.
• Conduct quantity verification and site measurements.
• Prepare and finalise project accounts.
• Monitor payment schedules and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Liaise with the Main Contractor on quantity and account-related matters.
• Liaise with Site Supervisors and Main Contractor to ensure projects are delivered according to timeline and contract requirements.
• Attend meetings and conduct site visits when required.
• Perform any other related duties assigned by Management.
