Job summary

See Boon Yong Construction (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a proactive Quantity Surveyor to support pre-contract, post-contract, and final accounts activities. You will perform quantity take-offs, cost estimations, and monitor project costs while liaising with site teams and suppliers. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

The role requires reading drawings, coordinating with main contractors, and travelling for site visits as needed. Excellent communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia is expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of pre-contract and post-contract processes including taking-off, cost estimation, payment claims and variation orders (VO).
• Able to read construction drawings and perform quantity measurement.
• Good coordination skills to liaise with site supervisors, main contractors, suppliers and project teams.
• Organised, detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks within project timelines.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Willing to travel for project meetings or site visits when required.
• Positive attitude, responsible and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Carry out quantity take-off and measurement works through the project lifecycle.
• Prepare cost estimation and budget analysis.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare and submit progress claims to the Main Contractor and monitor cost status.
• Prepare and evaluate Variation Orders (VO) and monitor material usage.
• Prepare and finalise project accounts and assist with payment schedules.
• Liaise with Site Supervisors and Main Contractor to ensure on-time delivery.

Responsibility

To assist throughout the entire project lifecycle, including Pre-Contract, Post-Contract and Final Accounts stages.

Pre-Contract

• Carry out quantity take-off and measurement works.
• Prepare cost estimation and budget analysis.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

Post-Contract

• Prepare and submit progress claims to the Main Contractor.
• Monitor and track monthly project progress and cost status.
• Prepare and evaluate Variation Orders (VO).
• Monitor material usage and wastage control.
• Conduct quantity verification and site measurements.

Final Accounts

• Prepare and finalise project accounts.
• Monitor payment schedules and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Liaise with the Main Contractor on quantity and account-related matters.

Coordination & Support

• Liaise with Site Supervisors and Main Contractor to ensure projects are delivered according to timeline and contract requirements.
• Attend meetings and conduct site visits when required.
• Perform any other related duties assigned by Management from time to time.
