You will be responsible for actively monitoring production quality across incoming materials, gravure printing, lamination, slitting/rewinding, seaming and finished products.

You will be responsible for actively monitoring production quality across incoming materials, gravure printing, lamination, slitting/rewinding, seaming and finished products.

Reporting to: QA Manager
Actively patrol the production floor and inspect running jobs according to approved samples, job specifications and required inspection frequencies.
Conduct incoming, in-process and outgoing quality inspections covering raw materials, gravure printing, lamination, slitting/rewinding, seaming and finished products.
Identify printing defects, colour deviation, registration problems, contamination, scratches, wrinkles, lamination defects, film defects, slitting/winding abnormalities and other non-conformities.
Recognise early signs of quality deviation and immediately alert Production so corrective action can be taken before significant defects or wastage occur.
Perform QC measurements using relevant inspection tools and equipment.
Perform or assist with testing such as colour measurement, thickness measurement, bond/peel testing, COF testing, dyne testing, barcode verification and hot-water shrink testing according to established procedures.
Immediately place suspected non-conforming material or production on QC HOLD when significant abnormalities are detected.
Identify and segregate affected material where applicable and promptly report the non-conformity to the QA Manager for review and disposition.
Maintain the QC HOLD until authorised disposition or release is given.
Conduct outgoing inspection of finished-product samples before release.
Maintain accurate inspection records, test results, traceability records, QC checklists, defect records and photographic evidence where required.
Participate in investigations when inspection failures or quality issues occur and support required corrective actions.
Take responsibility for the accuracy, consistency and completeness of assigned inspection work.
At least 1 year of QC experience, preferably with exposure to printing, flexible packaging, plastic film converting, lamination, labels or a closely related manufacturing environment.
Minimum SPM. Certificate or Diploma in Quality, Manufacturing, Printing, Engineering or a related field is an advantage.
Practical QC ability, quality awareness, attitude and relevant industry exposure are more important than academic qualifications alone.
Strong observation and attention to detail.
Proactive and willing to investigate abnormalities rather than wait for instructions.
Able to understand job specifications, approved samples, inspection procedures and QC requirements.
Able to maintain accurate and complete inspection and testing records.
Competent in Microsoft Excel and basic QC reporting.
Written English is required for QC documentation and reporting.
Must be able to accurately distinguish colours for colour-critical printing inspection.
Must have adequate visual acuity to detect fine printing and packaging defects. Corrective glasses/contact lenses are acceptable.
Comfortable working on the production floor and around printing machinery, inks, adhesives, films and normal factory conditions.
Must possess own transport.
Must be willing to work overtime when required and participate in scheduled rotational Sunday or public-holiday production duty when the factory operates.
Prior experience with every QC instrument or test is not required. Training will be provided on Company-specific inspection procedures, testing methods and quality requirements.
