Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a Pastry Cook to join our pastry team. Qualifications

• Basic pastry or culinary training preferred.
• Previous pastry/bakery experience an advantage but not essential.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical pastry skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, baking, and finishing pastries, desserts, breads, and other bakery items under supervision.
• Follow standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation guidelines.
• Support pre-opening activities including pastry kitchen setup, cleaning, and trial runs.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of workstations and equipment.
• Comply with IHG standards, HACCP, LQA, and local health regulations.
• Assist in stock rotation, ingredient storage, and inventory management.
• Work as part of the pastry team to support smooth daily operations.
• Report any equipment issues or safety concerns to the supervising Pastry Chef.
