Baker Hughes is seeking a Junior Field Service Engineer – Control/Electrical to lead on-site installation, maintenance and troubleshooting for rotating equipment at customer sites in Malaysia. You will ensure safety, compliance and quality while supporting cross-functional teams.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical/Electronics preferred), strong English communication, and flexibility to travel up to 70% for offshore or on-site work.

• Strong customer service orientation and ability to communicate technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction to internal teams and skilled labor to ensure safety, compliance, and quality.
• Oversee, troubleshoot, and commission rotating equipment at customer sites.
• Prepare and update technical documentation and daily/weekly briefing reports for customers and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure internal training, compliance and quality documentation are up-to-date per company standards.
• Manage company digital tools for retrieving technical documents and managing packing lists, BOMs and drawings.

As a Junior Field Service Engineer – Control/Electrical, you will play a vital role onsite with our customers.

Leading the installation/ maintenance activities, you will work with customers to troubleshoot issues and ensure safe and compliant installations. You will be the onsite expert, continually developing your knowledge and skills to deliver innovative solutions.

As a Junior Field Service Engineer – Control/Electrical, you will be responsible for:

• Providing technical direction for activities to internal teams and skilled labor to ensure safety, compliance, and quality.
• Overseeing, overhaul, troubleshooting and commissioning of our rotating equipment’s and products at customer sites.
• Preparing and updating technical documentation, plans, daily and weekly briefing reports for customers and internal cross-functional teams.
• Ensuring internal training, compliance and quality documentation is updated, followed, and completed according to company standards.
• Properly manage company digital tools to retrieve technical documents and management of packing list, bill of material and drawings.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering and major in electrical or electronics instrumentation is preferred
• Previous experience in oil and gas industry or rotating equipment for 1-3 years is preferred
• Display a strong customer service-orientation mindset, experienced leading customers through tough decisions.
• Be skilled at communicating complex technical information to customers and teams with varying levels of technical understanding
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Have excellent verbal and written English.
• Be ready to travel significantly (up to 70%) without geographical restriction, including offshore facilities.
