Job summary
Digital Silhouette Sdn Bhd is seeking a hands-on Junior Data Communications Engineer to support operation, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and monitoring of network infrastructure at a government agency in Klang, Selangor. The role requires a practical foundation in Data Communications and Networking, with emphasis on Lease Line/IPVPN networks and WiFi infrastructure.

Qualifications
- 1 year of relevant working experience preferred.
- Good working knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
- Good working knowledge of LAN/WAN networking concepts.
- Good working knowledge of Lease Line / IPVPN networks.
- Good working knowledge of routing and switching fundamentals.
- Good working knowledge of VLAN and basic subnetting.
- Good working knowledge of WiFi / Wireless LAN.
- Hands-on and technically practical.
- Strong in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Willing to work on-site and perform physical network installation/maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Assist in installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of Lease Line / IPVPN connectivity.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of WAN, LAN, and IP connectivity issues.
- Monitor network links and identify connectivity, latency, packet loss, and service availability issues.
- Perform basic network device configuration and troubleshooting involving routers, switches, and related equipment.
- Coordinate with telecommunications/service providers for lease line faults, outages, and restoration.
- Perform WiFi Access Point installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot WiFi connectivity, coverage, authentication, and performance issues.
- Carry out on-site troubleshooting and rectification of network-related problems.
- Perform physical inspection of network equipment, cabling, racks, switches, routers, APs, and related infrastructure.
- Monitor network infrastructure and report abnormal conditions or service interruptions.

We are urgently looking for a hands-on and technically inclined Junior Data Communications Engineer to support the operation, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and monitoring of network infrastructure at a government agency in Klang, Selangor. The successful candidate should have a good foundation in Data Communications and Networking, with practical knowledge particularly in Lease Line / IPVPN networks and WiFi infrastructure. The role requires someone who is comfortable working on-site, performing physical network installations, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and working closely with vendors and the customer's technical team.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of Lease Line / IPVPN network connectivity
- Perform basic troubleshooting of WAN, LAN, and IP connectivity issues
- Monitor network links and identify connectivity, latency, packet loss, and service availability issues
- Perform basic network device configuration and troubleshooting involving routers, switches, and related equipment

- Perform WiFi Access Point installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance
- Troubleshoot WiFi connectivity, coverage, authentication, and performance issues
