Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to troubleshoot complex on-premise and cloud networks, design and deploy robust LAN/WAN infrastructure, and manage server room provisioning. The role involves ensuring high network availability and security through best practices and documentation.

The ideal candidate has a IT-related degree, CCNA/Fortinet NSE or equivalent, and hands-on experience with Aruba, Fortinet, Cisco or Meraki platforms, with strong communication skills for stakeholder

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Professional network certification preferred (CCNA, Fortinet NSE or equivalent).
• Experience in network administration, firewall management, wireless/networking or cloud networking.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot advanced on-premise and cloud network infrastructure issues.
• Design and deploy functional networks including LAN, WLAN and WAN.
• Procure and provision communication equipment.
• Monitor network availability and performance.
• Implement network hardening and security best practices.
• Maintain up-to-date network topology diagrams and documentation.
• Manage Windows Server network services including Radius, DNS and DHCP.
• Coordinate site moves and new site provisioning.
• Coordinate with vendors and regional IT teams for issue resolution.
• Support network/security platforms such as Aruba, Fortinet, Cisco, Meraki.

Advanced on-premise and cloud network infrastructure issues troubleshooting, design and deployment of functional networks including LAN, WLAN and WAN. Communication equipment procurement and provisioning, network availability and performance monitoring, and network hardening with implementation of security best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot advanced on-premise and cloud network infrastructure issues
• Design and deploy functional networks including LAN, WLAN and WAN
• Procure and provision communication equipment
• Monitor network availability and performance
• Implement network hardening and security best practices
• Maintain up-to-date network topology diagrams and documentation
• Manage Windows Server network services including Radius, DNS and DHCP
• Manage comms and server rooms wiring
• Coordinate site moves and new site provisioning
• Manage fixed lines contracts including internet lines and telephony
• Manage telephony systems including users, call queues and related service administration
• Support Aruba, Fortinet, Cisco, Meraki and related network/security platforms
• Coordinate with vendors, regional IT teams and headquarters to ensure smooth network operations and timely issue resolution
• Participate in SD-WAN, cloud telephony and network automation improvement initiatives

About you

• Diploma/degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• Professional network certification such as CCNA, Fortinet NSE or equivalent is preferred
• Relevant technical experience/qualifications in network administration, firewall management, wireless networking or cloud networkingConversational English language skills essential
• Ability to absorb technical concepts and effectively communicate them to a non-technical audience
• Strong client-facing and presentation skills
• Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels and seek effective business solutions through improvements in systems, data, processes or procedures
• Industry-related experience as a Senior Network Engineer, Network Engineer or Network Administrator
