Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Junior Contracts Executive/Contracts Executive (Construction) to assist the Contracts Manager with procurement, cost control, and contract administration. You will coordinate quantity surveying activities including estimation, take-offs, claims and payment applications, and support pre-contract tasks such as tender scope analysis and tender submissions.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field.
• 1-2 years’ experience in construction, QS, contracts, or commercial administration.
• Knowledge of tendering, BQ, valuation, VO, claims, and final accounts.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Good communication, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Fresh graduates with a positive attitude, strong willingness to learn, and a passion for the construction industry are encouraged to apply.
• Able to work independently and willing to travel to project sites when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Contracts Manager in procurement, cost, and contract administration.
• Coordinate QS activities including estimation, quantity take-off, claims, and payment applications.
• Handle pre-contract activities including tender scope analysis, sourcing subcontractors, preparing Bills of Quantities (BQ), pricing, and tender submissions.
• Evaluate tender documents and prepare tender reports for management review.
• Arrange and conduct site valuations with Consultants.
• Review Variation Orders (VO) prepared by Consultants and follow up on payment certificates.
• Administer post-contract matters, including variations, claims, payments, and contract documentation.
• Prepare internal final accounts and handle project claims and payments.
• Issue Purchase Orders (PO) for construction materials and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain proper records of contracts, tenders, variations, claims, payments, and project correspondence.
• Coordinate with project, site, procurement, finance, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
