Job summary

Prism+ Malaysia is seeking a Junior Aircon / ACMV Technician to establish a solid service foundation and act as the technical reference for the customer service team. The role focuses on hands-on installation, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning systems for commercial and residential clients.

You will diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance, and provide clear guidance to customers while reporting to the Aircon Operations & Technical Manager. 5.5 days work week.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in air conditioning installation/maintenance.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and repair of AC systems.
• Must be physically able to perform duties; good communication in English and Malay.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair commercial and residential AC units.
• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective work on AC systems.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in air conditioning equipment.
• Repair components such as compressors and fan motors.
• Advise customers on repair and improvement works.
• Service AC at customer premises including chemical washes.
• Ensure compliance with appliance standards and safety regulations.
• Daily/weekly reporting to supervisor.
• Possibly perform other tasks as assigned.

Job description

As a growing electronics company, we're in search of a candidate who can demonstrate their expertise in establishing a solid foundation for our service team, particularly in the areas of ACMV installation & service. This role also involves serving as the go-to technical resource for our customer service team, aiding them in delivering top-notch troubleshooting solutions for our customers to ensure a seamless and speedy resolution.

This individual will serve as the cornerstone of technical hands-on knowledge for PRISM+ aircon products. They will be responsible for offering technical assistance, guidance, and support to both individual consumers and businesses encountering issues with our technical, hardware, and software systems. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role within PRISM+ Malaysia and will report directly to the Aircon Operations & Technical Manager.

Responsibilities of Junior Aircon / ACMV Technician but are not limited to

• Installs, inspects, maintains, and repair various types and brand of all types of commercial and residential air conditioners.
• Performs regular preventive maintenance and corrective works on air conditioning systems.
• Diagnoses electrical and mechanical defects and malfunctions.
• Carries our repair works such as replacement of air con compressors, fan coil motors, etc.
• Recommends appropriate repair and improvement works to customers.
• Perform servicing of air conditioning at customers' residential and commercial premises that includes chemical washes, chemical overhauls, general maintenance services.
• Ensure all works compliance with appliance standards and Health and Safety Act.
• Daily reporting and weekly reporting to direct manager.
• Any other tasks, when required by the immediate supervisor.

• Hands-on experience in installation, maintenance (including chemical washing), troubleshooting and repairing of air conditioners.
• Must be able to handle physical work due to job nature.
• Basic command of English, Malay spoken and written.
• Responsible for providing air conditioning (air conditioning system) services, such as inspection, maintenance, installation, air conditioning failure.
• Provide monthly maintenance and operation services to customers.
• Effective handling of fault/emergency repairs and customer complaints.
• GDL driving license.
• Minimum 1 year experience is required.
• 5.5 days' work week (Monday to Friday 9am to 6:30pm / Saturday 9am to 1pm).
• Preferably with a certification BCA License (Air-Con License) - INSTALLATION OF STRUCTURAL SUPPORTS FOR AIR-CON UNITS or equivalent/Malaysian Special Skills Certification (Preferred).
