Job summary

Pepper Labs is seeking a Junior AI Engineer in Kuala Lumpur. This full-time role offers a path to grow in AI/ML engineering, collaborating with experienced professionals to develop and optimise AI solutions across the product suite.

You will work on model development, data preprocessing, and deployment support, while expanding your knowledge of TensorFlow, PyTorch, and cloud platforms in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong foundations in ML concepts and frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
• Proficiency in Python with solid data structures and software design basics.
• Familiarity with NumPy and Pandas for data manipulation.
• Basic statistics and linear algebra applied to ML; Git for version control.
• Excellent communication; able to work independently and in teams.
• Preferred: exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and SQL basics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement ML models and algorithms to solve real-world problems.
• Write clean, maintainable code in Python, Java, or similar languages.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and data scientists to design AI solutions.
• Preprocess, analyse, and visualise data to support model development.
• Test and debug AI models to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and improve development practices.
• Document technical specifications and implementation details.
• Stay updated with AI advancements and assist in deployment and monitoring.
