Job summary

Siroi Solutions Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our engineering team in Kuala Lumpur. Qualifications

• 5–6 years of hands-on Java development experience.
• Strong command of Core Java – OOP, Collections, Multithreading, and Java 8+ features.
• Experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework (MVC, Security, Data JPA).
• Practical Hibernate/JPA ORM and database interaction.
• RESTful web services design/consumption; API security with OAuth2/JWT.
• Strong SQL skills with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Experience with microservices, build tools, and Git.
• Fluent English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java applications and microservices using Spring Boot.
• Build, document, and maintain secure RESTful APIs; integrate with government platforms.
• Design and implement data persistence with Hibernate/JPA; optimize queries.
• Participate in architecture discussions; propose scalable enterprise solutions.
• Collaborate with analysts, QA, DevOps, PMs in Agile/Scrum.
• Write clean, tested code and participate in peer reviews to ensure quality.
• Develop unit and integration tests; support CI/CD with DevOps.

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with 5–6 years of hands‑on software development experience to join our engineering team. You will design, build, and maintain robust backend systems using Core Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Hibernate, contributing directly to Smart City and government digital transformation projects. This is a permanent, on‑site role based at our ITMAX office in Seri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, ideal for a developer who enjoys solving complex problems and wants to grow into a senior technical contributor.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, high-performance Java applications and microservices using Spring Boot and the Spring Framework.


• Build, document, and maintain secure RESTful APIs, and integrate with third‑party systems and government agency platforms.


• Design and implement data persistence layers using Hibernate/JPA, including efficient schema design and query optimisation.


• Participate in system architecture and technical design discussions, proposing sound, scalable solutions for enterprise and government platforms.


• Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, QA engineers, DevOps, UI/UX designers, and Project Managers in an Agile/Scrum environment.


• Write clean, well‑tested, maintainable code, and actively participate in peer code reviews to uphold engineering standards.


• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure application reliability and code quality.


• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise existing applications for performance, scalability, and security.


• Support build, release, and CI/CD pipeline activities in coordination with DevOps engineers.


• Apply secure coding practices and support compliance with data privacy and government security requirements (e.g. PDPA).


• Produce clear technical documentation, including design specifications, API documentation, and deployment notes.


• Mentor junior developers and contribute to continuous improvement of team practices and coding standards.

Qualifications

• 5–6 years of hands‑on professional software development experience, primarily in Java.


• Strong command of Core Java — OOP principles, Collections, Multithreading/Concurrency, Exception handling, and Java 8+ features (Streams, Lambdas, Optional).


• Solid, hands‑on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework (Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, Dependency Injection/IoC).


• Practical experience with Hibernate/JPA for ORM and database interaction.


• Proven experience designing and consuming RESTful web services; familiarity with API security (OAuth2/JWT) is a plus.


• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle, including query tuning.


• Working knowledge of microservices architecture and design patterns.


• Experience with build tools (Maven or Gradle) and version control systems (Git).


• Familiarity with application/web servers such as Tomcat, JBoss, or WebLogic.


• Experience writing unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.


• Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies.


• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team.


• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.


• Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
