Job summary

Choo Bee Metal Industries in Ipoh, Perak, is seeking an IT Support/Administrator to oversee and maintain all IT hardware and software systems, ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness. You will provide end-user support, troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, and assist with server management and data backups.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, analytical abilities, good communication, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and IT infrastructure maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset.
• Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond to technical issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, manage and maintain all IT hardware and software systems, in accordance to set policies and procedures, ensuring statutory and legal compliance while maintaining cost-effectiveness and optimal performance, under the supervision of Senior IT Executive.
• Provide technical assistance and support to end-users, including trouble shooting hardware, software and network issues.
• Assist in the proper maintenance of all hardware and software systems.
• Assist in the administration of the computer system, including system shutdown, system start up and data backups as outlined in the Information Technology SOP (IT SOP) comprising General IT Control, Policies and Procedures, Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and ISO 9001 procedures.
• Assist in the management of servers.
• Ensure daily tape backup and external data backup to an external drive as contingency off-site data storage facility.
• Liaise with external service providers for maintenance of infrastructure in IT department.
• Generate daily reports to Top Management and key users.
• Assist in performing basic network administration and troubleshoot.
• Preferred work location at Ipoh, Perak.
