Job summary

Aurora Talent is seeking an IT Manager for a leading international energy company in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The role oversees the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise applications, manages SAP systems and non-SAP applications, ensuring stability, performance, security, and reliability across the portfolio.

You will partner with stakeholders to identify gaps and automation opportunities, lead deployment projects, and manage vendor relations, governance, and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in enterprise application environments, ideally with a SAP background on governance ownership.
• Strong grounding in SAP modules: FICO, MM, PS, SD, PM, JVA.
• Direct experience with SAP S/4HANA migration, data harmonization, or cutover planning preferred.
• Experience in regulated, multi-entity, multi-country environments.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are actively supporting a leading international energy company with a diversified portfolio across power plant and renewable energy, who is looking for an IT manager to join their growing team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

This role would be reporting to the Head of IT, overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle, managing the enterprise applications for SAP and non-SAP systems, ensuring stability, performance, security, and reliability, by coordinating enhancements, fixes and integrations.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

• Oversee the full lifecycle of enterprise applications, acting as the primary IT owner.
• Manage SAP systems and key modules such as; ECC6, S/4HANA, FICO CORE, MM/PS/SD/PM/JVA.
• Manage non-SAP applications for management systems with finance, HR, payroll, procurement, and workflow/document to ensure seamless integration across all systems.
• Partner with business stakeholders to identify inefficiencies, system gaps and automation opportunities to improve end-to-end business processes.
• Lead application-related projects, such as rollouts, upgrades, migrations and manage change through established governance processes.
• Manage vendor relationships and review SLA performance, service quality and cost efficiency.
• Ensure governance, risk, and compliance standards are met across all applications, supporting external and internal audits.
• Lead and develop application support analysts and functional leads.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in enterprise application environments, ideally with a SAP background on a platform/governance ownership level.
• Strong grounding in one or more core SAP operational modules (FICO/MM/PS/SD/PM/JVA)
• Direct experience with SAP S/4HANA migration, data harmonization, or cutover planning strongly preferred.
• Comfortable operating in a regulated, multi-entity, multi-country environment.
• Experience managing vendor and AMS relationships.
• Strong stakeholder management, training/coaching ability, and leadership skills.
