Kings University College in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an IT Lecturer to join our teaching team. This full-time role focuses on delivering engaging IT courses, updating materials, and mentoring students to prepare them for industry careers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar.
• Proven teaching experience in tertiary education or lecturing in IT.
• Strong knowledge in IT domains: software development, networking, databases, cybersecurity, systems administration or web development.
• Proficiency in programming languages and IT tools used in industry.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
• Commitment to student‑centred learning and inclusive teaching.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Professional IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) are desirable.
• Industry experience in IT to provide practical insights.

About the role Kings University College is seeking an IT Lecturer to join our dynamic teaching team in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to inspire and educate the next generation of information technology professionals. As an IT Lecturer, you will be at the forefront of tertiary education, delivering high-quality instruction in information technology and fostering critical thinking and practical skills in our students. This role is pivotal in shaping the academic experience and career trajectories of our learners whilst contributing to the strategic goals of the institution.

What you'll be doing

Designing and delivering engaging lectures, seminars, and practical sessions in information technology modules across the curriculum

Developing and updating course materials, lesson plans and educational resources to reflect current industry practices and technological advancements

Assessing student performance through examinations, assignments, practical projects and continuous evaluation methods

Providing constructive feedback and academic support to students to enhance their learning outcomes and professional development

Supervising student projects, laboratory work and IT-related practical activities

Conducting research and staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform teaching practice

Collaborating with colleagues to develop and improve IT programmes and contribute to curriculum enhancement initiatives

Engaging in departmental meetings, committees and institutional activities as required

Mentoring students in their academic and professional development, including career guidance

Contributing to the recruitment and retention of students through outreach and promotional activities

What we're looking for

A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline; a master's degree is advantageous

Proven teaching experience in tertiary education or relevant lecturing background in information technology

Strong knowledge and expertise in current IT domains such as software development, networking, databases, cybersecurity, systems administration or web development

Proficiency in relevant programming languages and IT tools commonly used in the industry

Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences

Commitment to student-centred learning and the ability to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively

Professional certifications relevant to information technology (such as CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft or similar) are highly desirable

Industry experience in IT roles that complement academic knowledge and enable practical, real-world insights

Demonstrated ability to utilise technology effectively in teaching and learning processes
