Job summary

Seagate Technology in Penang is seeking an IT Infrastructure Operations professional to develop agentic AI solutions that automate IT infrastructure and reduce manual effort. You will support administration of RHEL, VMware, Windows, and global deployments.

The role requires a degree in CS/IT/CE, strong Linux admin skills, knowledge of open-source tools and automation scripting, and experience with ITSM tools.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux systems administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of RHEL, VMware, and Windows administration.
• Experience with RHEL/open-source tools, clustering and automation scripting.
• Experience supporting global infrastructure across ESXi hosts and bare-metal servers.

Responsibilities

About The Role - You Will

• Develop agentic AI solutions to automate IT Infrastructure Operations, improve efficiency, and reduce manual effort.
• Support IT Infrastructure Operations administration.
• Manage daily operations and administration for RHEL and other Linux distributions, VMware, and Windows across the global IT infrastructure, including VMware optimization and resource monitoring.
• Support global Linux and Windows server deployments.
• Implement and maintain security controls to protect infrastructure integrity.
• Develop and monitor policies, procedures, and standards for the global server environment.
• Perform global server operating system patching using tools such as ManageEngine and Katello.
• Document completed tasks in accordance with established standards.
• Apply sound judgment when selecting methods and techniques to resolve issues, working independently on routine tasks with general guidance for new assignments.

About You

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering
• Strong systems administration and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of RHEL, VMware, and Windows administration
• Knowledge of RHEL, open-source tools and services, clustering, and automation scripting

Your Experience Includes

• Strong Linux administration skills, preferably with Oracle Linux, CentOS, or RHEL
• Systems administration experience, particularly in Linux environments
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Linux, Windows, and VMware administration
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with operating system patching, server deployment, and remote console management
• Knowledge of RHEL, open-source tools and services, clustering, and automation scripting
• Experience with IT service management tools such as Freshservice, ServiceNow, or Remedy
