Job summary

Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd is seeking an Information Technology Engineer to maintain and support our enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization, and backup solutions.

You will perform preventive maintenance, health checks, and monitor performance to ensure system stability and availability. The role requires coordinating with internal teams and customers, handling escalations, and documenting technical reports.

Qualifications

• Must have strong experience in enterprise IT infrastructure maintenance/technical support.
• Good knowledge of Enterprise Server, Storage/SAN, Virtualisation and Backup & Recovery.
• Experience with VMware, Windows/Linux, SAN switches is advantageous.
• Degree in Engineering & IT related field; Huawei HCIA/HCIP/HCIE in Storage/Computing/Cloud preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support enterprise Server, Storage, Virtualisation and Backup systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, health checks, and performance monitoring.
• Carry out firmware/software upgrades, patching, configuration, hardware replacement, migration and implementation.
• Provide technical support and communicate with customers, explain findings, and propose solutions.
• Coordinate with internal teams or vendors for complex issues and escalate when needed.
• Prepare maintenance and technical reports and support planned maintenance or critical incidents.

Job description

1. Responsible for the technical maintenance and support of enterprise Server, Storage, Virtualisation and Backup systems.

2. Perform preventive maintenance, system health checks and performance monitoring to ensure the stability and availability of IT infrastructure.

3. Perform and support firmware/software upgrades, patching, configuration, hardware replacement, migration and implementation activities when required.

4. Provide technical support and communicate with customers to understand issues, provide updates, explain technical findings, and recommend appropriate solutions.

5. Coordinate with other internal technical teams or vendors to resolve complex technical issues and perform technical escalations when required

6. Prepare maintenance reports, technical reports, and other technical documentation, and support planned maintenance or critical incidents

Candidate's Requirement:

1. Experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, maintenance or technical support, with good knowledge in Enterprise Server, Storage / SAN, Virtualisation, and Backup & Recovery. Experience with Huawei Server, Storage, Computing, Virtualisation or Backup solutions is an advantage.

2. Experience with VMware, Windows/Linux, SAN switches or enterprise backup solutions is an advantage.

3. Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and communicate directly with customers.

4. Required Degree in Engineering & IT related background or equivalent (Huawei HCIA/HCIP/HCIE in Storage, Computing, Cloud Computing or related technologies are preferred. VMware, Linux, Server, Storage or Backup certifications are an advantage)
