Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking an L2 Database Operations Specialist to provide incident, request, change and problem management for database systems. You will ensure 24/7 coverage, meet SLA targets, and participate in major incidents while installing, upgrading, and patching databases for high availability.

The role involves proactive performance monitoring, access control, backups, and security compliance, along with building reports, dashboards and automation to improve IT operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics/Computer/Software Engineering, Information Systems or related fields.
• Experience with database operations and incident/problem/change management is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server, Oracle, Linux/Windows environments, and scripting languages is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 support for database operations, incidents, requests, changes and problems.
• Ensure 24/7 operational support and participate in Major incidents.
• Maintain SLA targets and investigate breach cases, MTTR and first-level resolutions.
• Install/upgrade databases, apply patches, and implement changes as required.
• Monitor performance, manage access and backups, and ensure security compliance.
• Develop and manage database reports, dashboards, and automation workflows.
