Synopsis in Kuala Lumpur seeks an IT Demand Manager to lead the end-to-end IT project demand pipeline, assessing requests and ensuring prioritisation, tracking, and resource allocation.

You will work with application owners, technology teams, and business stakeholders to evaluate demand, dependencies, and delivery requirements, while coordinating governance, dashboards, and management reporting for executives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Project Management, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of IT Demand Management, project portfolio management, technology delivery, or related function.
  • Strong IT Project Management background with experience overseeing multiple projects.
  • Experience managing project demand pipelines, prioritisation, governance, and portfolio reporting.
  • Understanding of technology investment governance, including budget/spend approvals and architecture processes.
  • Hands-on experience developing management reports, dashboards, demand metrics, and portfolio insights.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Demand Management (Ideation, Continual Improvement, Surveys/Assessments, or Service Portal).
  • Experience in Agile/SAFe delivery environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end IT project demand pipeline, assess requests, prioritise, track, and allocate resources.
  • Collaborate with application owners, tech teams, and stakeholders to evaluate demand, dependencies, priorities, and delivery requirements.
  • Coordinate allocation of IT Project Managers to approved initiatives and monitor progress against timelines, budgets, and objectives.
  • Facilitate demand prioritisation discussions and establish assessment criteria for objective selection.
  • Coordinate governance activities including Spend Paper approvals and architecture/design governance.
  • Maintain visibility of the portfolio, identify ageing demands, risks, bottlenecks, and competing priorities.
  • Develop dashboards, metrics, and weekly/monthly management reports on backlog, pipeline, progress, risks, and trends.
  • Improve demand intake, assessment, approval, prioritisation, and tracking processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve forecast accuracy and manage requirements and stakeholder expectations.
  • Provide portfolio insights and recommendations to senior management to inform tech investment decisions.
  • Support special projects and broader programme management as required.

Job description

  • You must manage the end-to-end IT project demand pipeline, assessing incoming requests and ensuring appropriate prioritisation, tracking, and assignment of project resources.
  • You are expected to work closely with application owners, technology teams, and business stakeholders to evaluate project demand, business value, dependencies, priorities, and delivery requirements.
  • You must coordinate the allocation of suitable IT Project Managers to approved initiatives and monitor project progress against agreed timelines, budgets, and objectives.
  • You are expected to facilitate demand prioritisation discussions and establish clear assessment criteria to support objective project selection and decision‑making.
  • You must coordinate key project governance activities, including Spend Paper approvals, Enterprise Architecture approvals, and solution design governance.
  • You are expected to maintain visibility of the overall project portfolio, proactively identifying ageing demands, delivery risks, bottlenecks, and competing priorities.
  • You must develop and maintain dashboards, metrics, and weekly/monthly management reports covering demand backlog, project pipeline, progress, risks, and portfolio trends.
  • You are expected to continuously improve demand intake, assessment, approval, prioritisation, and tracking processes to strengthen overall delivery efficiency.
  • You must collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve demand forecasting and ensure project requirements, contractual obligations, and stakeholder expectations are effectively managed.
  • You are expected to provide portfolio insights and recommendations to senior management and executives to support strategic technology investment and planning decisions.
  • You must support special projects and broader programme management activities where required.
Job Requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in IT Demand Management, project portfolio management, technology delivery, or a related function.
  • Strong background in IT Project Management, with experience overseeing multiple projects or technology demands simultaneously.
  • Proven experience managing project demand pipelines, prioritisation, resource allocation, project governance, and portfolio reporting.
  • Good understanding of technology investment governance, including budget/spend approvals and architecture approval processes.
  • Hands‑on experience developing management reports, dashboards, demand metrics, and project portfolio insights.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Demand Management, including exposure to Ideation, Continual Improvement Management, Surveys & Assessments, or Service Portal capabilities, is highly advantageous.
  • Experience working within Agile and/or SAFe delivery environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities, with a good understanding of factors influencing business value and technology investment decisions.
  • Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to engage confidently with business stakeholders, technology teams, senior management, and executives.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across different organisational levels.
