Job summary

GlobalFoundries in Penang seeks an experienced IP Quality Engineer to qualify semiconductor IP libraries across technology platforms. You will validate vendor IP deliveries, perform IP QA, and manage IP testing, ensuring compatibility with evolving PDKs and process updates.

You will collaborate with external IP providers and internal teams to resolve issues, enhance IP quality, and support successful customer deployment and tape-out.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of working experience in IC design.
• Experience with RTL-to-GDS flow and Analog simulation.
• Proficient in layout design and DRC/DFM/LVS debugging.
• Hands-on with industry CAD tools and scripting/automation.
• Familiar with library compiler, PrimeTime, and VCS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform IP QA against a predefined checklist and meet cycle time.
• Verify IP DK and silicon deliverables against contract; issue approvals or non-conformances.
• Qualify IP merge kit to support customer tape-out.
• Maintain IP information in database and catalog; define test cases.
• Conduct IP regression (DRC/LVS/DFM, PEX, Spice) against passing criteria.
• Prepare documentation, waivers, and assessment reports; support customer queries.
