Job summary

Alcon is seeking an experienced Sr. Associate I, Accounting & Reporting to ensure accurate financial records and lead inventory accounting for the commercial entity. You will post journals, coordinate with COE on inventory provisions, and drive cost analysis and month-end close processes.

The role requires IFRS knowledge, exposure to audits, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. A professional accounting qualification is preferred and English plus Mandarin proficiency is needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• ACCA/CPA/CIMA/CA or equivalent qualification preferred or in progress.
• 2–5 years of RTR experience in Shared Services or multinational environment.
• Solid understanding of IFRS and audit requirements; experience supporting audits.
• Exposure to regional/global stakeholders and matrix environments.
• SAP closing and reporting experience is an advantage; strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for accounting and reporting of inventory for the commercial entity.
• Prepare and post journals on inventory provision and adjustments.
• Coordinate with COE team managing inventory provision calculations and rationale.
• Manage material costing, costing release, and investigate issues on TPC and PPV.
• Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Prepare and support financial statements and reporting for internal/external stakeholders.
• Analyze P&L and balance sheet movements related to inventory.
• Ensure internal controls and accounting policies compliance.
• Support audits and audit schedules; respond to queries.
• Identify and drive process improvements, standardization, and automation.
